Matt Crespin, MPH, RDH is a passionate public health advocate and champion of oral health prevention strategies. Matt is the associate director at Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin and is a self proclaimed “health policy nerd.” Matt is an advocate for policy change at the local, state and national level that have impacts on health outcomes. Matt’s courses are geared towards dental and dental hygiene professionals but has presented to school nurses, policy makers and physicians on a variety of topics relating to public health. Matt oversees the Wisconsin Seal-A-Smile program which provides care to more than 50,000 children in 850 schools across the entire state. Matt offers courses on evidence-based practices for sealants and various fluoride modalities, school-based oral health programs and community water fluoridation.

Sherri Lukes

Sherri Lukes, RDH, MS, FAADH has 35 years of experience in dentistry, 28 spent in academia. In 2014 she retired as associate professor from Southern Illinois University dental hygiene program where she taught oral pathology, community oral health, multicultural dental hygiene and advanced periodontics clinic. Community service projects include biannual mission trips to central Mexico, where accompanied by SIU dental hygiene students, she provides oral health care in an orphanage and remote villages. She received Community Service, Teacher of the Year, and Research Paper of the Year awards while at SIU, was named an Oral Health Champion by the IFLOSS Coalition and the Illinois Department of Public Health and is a past recipient of the Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction.

Linda Bohacek is a clinical dental hygienist in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Over the past 15 years, she has been involved in her local community with Healthy Communities Eau Claire and is Co-chair of the Oral Health Promotion Action Team.  This action team recently completed a year and a half project geared toward Dental Home by Age One which has been recognized state-wide for its webinar design and production.

She has practiced in various settings over her 45 years of practice, including a veterinary setting.  She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale Dental Hygiene Program and received her Master’s Degree in Adult and Higher Education, Columbia Teacher’s College, New York. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene and has been honored with the ADHA’s Alfred C. Fones Award, WDHA’s Carol Benson Distinguished Service Award, Crest/ADHA Clinical Dental Hygienist Award, and Sunstar America Award of Distinction. She takes an active leadership and project development role in organizations at the community and state level.

He went on to graduate from The Ohio State University as a “Guygienist” and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where he started his first of five dental businesses. Elijah has learned a great deal from his experiences after practicing with and coaching over 300 dental teams nationwide. In addition to being a highly sought after consultant with Back To The Basics, he speaks in 4-6 cities per month. Cindy M. Purdy, RDH, BSDH, CEAS

Thirty-five years of clinical dental hygiene practice has fueled Cindy Purdy’s passion for workplace wellness. She holds an Ergonomic Certificate from Colorado State University.  In 2013, she earned her CEAS Credential (Certified Ergonomic Assessment  Specialist),  with an emphasis  on improving the health and performance of dental  personnel by creating safe in-office workstations.

Acting as a liaison for clinical dental healthcare workers, Cindy provides corporate consulting,  strategic development and training for dental/medical  industry manufacturers.  She  works in professional relations with key opinion leaders for manufacturers that focus on ergonomic products used by dental  healthcare workers.

Cindy continues to keep her clinical skills sharp by providing dental hygiene services in her hometown in rural Colorado .  Additionally, she provides ergonomic education for dental hygiene students through an educational grant.

Her current focus is to utilize her CEAS education on bringing her ergonomic assessment skills into individual dental offices to increase the health of dental professionals and to reduce the number of careers that are cut short due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

Sarah Thiel is a Registered Dental Hygienist who is very passionate about continuing education and regulation and compliance. She is very knowledgeable in this area given she is serving on the NM Dental Board as the secretary and owns CE Zoom which offers a state specific CE tracker and helps states audit dental professionals. Although the word audit, rules and regs are like a 4 letter words and no one wants to learn about it, she manages to hold the audience attention and teach very valuable information.

She is a practicing clinician, columnist, feature writer and Senior Consulting Editor for RDH Magazine and has authored textbook chapters on ergonomics and power driven scaling.  Anne has been involved in the development and testing for a wide range of clinical products and equipment.

She holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Texas Dental School and was honored as the 2004 Philips RDH Mentor of the Year, received the 2009 ADHA Colgate Irene Newman Award, recognized in 2012 as one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry by Dental Products Report, received the 2016 RDH Magazine Reader’s Choice Most Effective Educator Award and nominated for the 2013 CNN Home Town Heroes Award.  In 2015 Anne was awarded the National Speakers Association Certified Speaking Professional Credential, the highest earned designation for professional speakers.

Kris is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, a fellow and accredited provider with the American Academy of Dental Hygiene and a member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health. Her passion for life long learning has directed her to complete advanced specialty courses and obtain certificates in Cambra and Oncology Care.

She is owner/CEO of Oral Health Promotion Strategies, LLC, offering educational speaking, writing, and coaching services for dental professionals. Kris is a published author contributing articles to Dentistry IQ, Developing Healthy Habits Magazine, and contributed and chapter to Volume 5 of Dare to Be a Difference Maker. She has been interviewed on CrossLink Radio, The Doctor Bob Show, and Forever Young Radio for her expertise on xylitol.
