Overview

CDE: 2 hours

Course Overview:

The treatment of patients with a terminal dentition or partial edentulism is a priority today. Many patients desire a fixed prosthetic option and view removable prostheses as archaic. The concept of immediate implant placement AND immediate temporization is attractive to patients due to having one surgery, shorter treatment times, leading to a more predictable outcome, and the benefit of leaving with “fixed teeth all in one day”.

Participants will learn who to treat, and when to treat patients. Participants will learn how to identify and evaluate appropriate candidates for this treatment and discuss immediate implant placement and loading of implants with fixed-detachable prostheses.

Course Objectives:

·                  Upon completion of this course, the restorative dentist will be able to:

·                  Understand Why treatment of the edentulous patient is important

·                  Understand how to identify the best candidates for fixed full arch

·                  Plan treatment for patients with a partially or fully edentulous Mandible vs Maxilla

·                  Understand treatment limitations from both surgical and prosthetic perspectives
