This session will address “The Role of the Dental Assistant in Clinical Endodontics and in the course of this presentation, the following topics will be addressed:
  •          The goal of endodontic therapy
  •          Introduction to the equipment used during routine endodontic procedures
  •          How to “set-up” for non-surgical endodontics
  •          The role of the assistant during the case
  •          Sterilization and maintenance of dental equipment

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation participants will:

  •          Have a more complete understanding of the role of the endodontic assistant
  •          Understand the goal and limitations of current endodontic therapy
  •          Feel more confident in their ability to successfully prepare the treatment room 
  •          Learn how to properly sterilize and maintain endodontic equipment
  •          Have a more complete knowledge of various endodontic tools

Anne L. Koch, DMD

Dr. Anne L. Koch received both her DMD and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania.  She is the founder and past Director of the Postdoctoral Program in Endodontics and Microsurgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and is also the founder and past CEO of Real World Endo.
Dr. Koch is the holder of multiple patents and maintains a faculty position at Penn (Department of Endodontics) as well as serving as a member of the Board of Advisors for the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She is also a Board Member for the Center for Innovation and Precision Dentistry at Penn.  Dr. Koch maintains an adjunct faculty position at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she has co-endowed the Diversity and Inclusion Program.
The author of more than one hundred and fifty articles in her specialty field, Dr. Koch has presented more than one thousand lectures worldwide.
Allen Ali Nasseh, DDS, MMSc.
Dr. Nasseh received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University Dental School in 1994 and completed is postdoctoral endodontic fellowship at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1997, where he completed a Masters in Medical Science degree in the area of bone physiology.  He is Senior Clinical Instructor and lecturer at the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterial Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine since 1997 and the former Alumni editor of the Harvard Dental Bulletin.
Dr. Nasseh is the president and Chief Executive Officer for Real World Endo® (RealWorldEndo.com) and lectures internationally on endodontic topics.  His education videos have registered over 3 million views based on Google Analytics.
He is endodontic editor to several peer reviewed journals and periodicals and a member of the NIH/NIDCR Clinical Needs Advisory Board for the Michigan Pittsburgh, Wyss Center for regenerative Medicine (doctrc.pitt.edu) and Materials and Instruments Committee for the American Dental Association (ADA).

Dr. Nasseh is the owner and director of Microsurgical Endodontics, a multi specialty endodontic practice in Copley Plaza Boston, MA (MicroSurgicalEndo.com).
