Dr. Brijesh Chandwani, a residency-trained orofacial pain specialist, will cover the basics of orofacial pain and why it is relevant to general dentists. You will see real cases of how dentistry's phantom pains, including trigeminal neuralgia and atypical odontalgia present in the chair. Attendees will learn the differential diagnoses in orofacial pain and the treatment options available to help patients with pain. Live Q&A at the end of the presentation. 1 CE credit available.

Presenter Bio:
Brijesh P. Chandwani is a residency-trained orofacial pain (TMJ specialty) specialist who spe- cializes in complex facial pain conditions including TMJ disorders, truismus, jaw spasms, trigem- inal neuralgia, atypical facial pain, trigeminal nerve injuries (neuropathic pain) and headache disorders. With more than 15 years of experience in modalities such as nerve blocks, trigger point injections, prolotherapy, TMJ injections (steroids, hyaluronic acid), occlusal orthotics and other mouthguards, Dr. Chandwani’s philosophy focuses on precision diagnosis and under- standing underlying mechanisms and complicating factors.
Dr. Chandwani has authored numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an invited reviewer for Journal of American Dental Association and Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology. He teaches Orofacial pain and sleep medicine to post-graduate residency pro- grams and dental schools and he has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics of Orofacial Pain.
