While occlusal appliances are used commonly in dentistry, there are many questions about what occlusal can do and what they cannot do. In addition to questions about what occlusal appliances can accomplish, there are more questions about how to design occlusal appliances. While occlusal appliances can be very effective, most dentists are not confident utilizing occlusal appliance therapy due to a lack of training. The presentation will provide a logical perspective on how to think about occlusal appliances in your practice and increase your confidence when talking to patients.
Learning objectives:
 1.  Understand occlusal at the tooth level and at the joint level to better understand occlusal appliances.
2. Understand the function of an occlusal appliance.
3. Learn how to design an occlusal appliance based upon the clinical exam.

4. Learn how to communicate effectively to patients about occlusal appliances.
