The transformation of the pediatric patient’s dentition and
oral structures through the primary, mixed and early permanent dentition may
result in various problematic presentations. Identification and timely
intervention will assure not only the child’s developmental well-being but may
also minimize future treatment costs. Specific treatment recommendations for
eruption disturbances and space maintenance are included with this program. You
will derive enhanced diagnostic and treatment skills for your youngest
patients.
Objectives

Discuss identification and intervention for
ectopic eruption of maxillary permanent canines and first permanent molars

Describe management of space after premature
tooth loss in the developing dentition with appropriate space maintainers
Jane A. Soxman, DDS
Dr. Soxman is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric
Dentistry, a Fellow in both the American College of Dentists and American
Academy of Pediatric Dentists and manuscript reviewer for the journal, General Dentistry. She is a seminar
instructor for two general practice residency programs and a pediatric
residency program, editor of the 1st
and 2nd editions of
the Handbook of Clinical Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry, and lead
author of Anomalies of the Developing Dentition. Lectures incorporate
the realities of practice and evidence-based recommendations. A conversational
style, fact-filled lectures and numerous publications have earned her
recognition as a leader in continuing education.
