Infection Control for the Dental Professional
Dental healthcare providers (DHCP) have a professional responsibility to implement proper infection control practices. Federal and state standards and guidance protect clinician and patients against the transmission of potentially infectious agents. This course will provide a comprehensive review of clinical compliance as it relates to the regulations established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and governed by state professional licensing boards. The speaker will detail the mandatory requirements dental offices must perform in order to be fully compliant, including hand hygiene, waterline asepsis, sterilization and disinfection and standard precautions.
Lisa Kane DMD assists dental practices in complying with the myriad of regulations and best practices promulgated by State dental boards, OSHA and the CDC. Lisa conducts office walk-through; creates customized plans and protocols for dental offices; teaches infection control, medical emergency and risk management classes; and provides consulting services to help offices improve their quality care and overall efficiency. Prior to forming DOC4NE, she practiced dentistry in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years. the owner of Dental Office Compliance of New England. Lisa received her DMD from Tufts University School of Medicine and her BS from Brandeis University.
