The success of an implant and the associated bone stability are measured in the long term, so the prosthetic factors are just as important as the surgical factors. Current design and materials are keys that every clinician must understand so they can properly communicate with their lab technicians.  We will explore the latest literature as it relates to avoiding complications and ensuring crestal bone stability.
Learning Objectives:
  •        Understand how implant position effects abutment design.
  •        Different methods for restoring posterior implants.
  •        Materials available, pros and cons, and their soft tissue and esthetic impact, strength, and longevity.
  •        Understanding the detrimental effects of cement as it relates to restoring implants.
  •        Screw-retained Vs Cemented, pros and cons.
  •        Emergence profile of the restoration
