Description:
Josephson Institute stated that Ethics is how we meet the challenge when doing the right thing will cost more than we want to pay. In this course learners will set up a framework to tackle ethical situations in professional settings.
Objectives:
Describe the aspects of a true professional as they apply to dentistry.
Identify strategies to implement in striving for standard of care.
Learn the 6 step ethical dilemma framework and apply it to dental situations.
Identify key terms and definitions, and how they apply to ethical decision making.
Discuss how to accurately navigate state practice acts.
Discuss the rationale for Dental Hygienists to carry their own malpractice insurance.
Shelley Brown, MEd, BSDH, RDH truly enjoys helping hygienists become their best. She lives in Utah and has been practicing hygiene for 11 years and have been loving the dental field for more than 15. You can find her on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Jessica Atkinson, MEd, BSDH, RDH has 20 years of dental experience ranging from pulling charts as a sophomore in high school to brushing Filipino children's teeth after a typhoon. She has a passion for education and access to care.
Melia Lewis, MEd, BSDH, RDH grew up in the dental world. With 11 years of dental hygiene experience, 4 as a dental assistant, and hundreds of continuing education hours, she loves to learn and stay up to date on the latest technologies. She is a current adjunct faculty member at Utah Valley University and is active in the Utah Dental Hygienists’ Association. Her passion is helping dental hygienists feel empowered and supported, as well as educating the public on how awesome RDHs are to their oral and overall health.

Cancellation Policy:
Processing and service fees are non-refundable for any and all cancellations with no exceptions. Refunds will only be issued if requested 8 days or more prior to the event. No refunds will be given within 7 days of the event unless the event is canceled by CE Zoom, or unforeseen acts of God, in which we will try and reschedule the event prior to issuing a full refund, minus any processing fees.. Please note, if this is a live-streamed event, you must have a good internet connection and refunds will not be issued due to poor connection or courses not counting for CE credit.
