Indiana Jurisprudence, Ethics and Professional Responsibility for Dentists and Hygienists

Dentists and hygienists alike will enjoy the Indiana Dental Association (IDA) fast paced, entertaining session that fulfills your two-hour requirement for license renewal. The program will provide an opportunity for you to be updated on the new laws, test your knowledge; be reminded of your ethical code and walk through case study “sticky situations” every dental professional face in practice. 

IDA has an up to date, insightful review of the Indiana practice acts and rules of the Board of Dentistry affecting your practice and patients. You will laugh and learn as you fulfill your Indiana State Board of Dentistry requirement. 

By attending this course, you will complete the following learning objectives:

Engaged in peer-to-peer discussions over dental specific legal, ethical situations

Reviewed portions of the Indiana statutes and rules that relate to the practice of dentistry and hygiene.

Discussed the principles of ethics and code of professional conduct related to dentistry and hygiene.

Reviewed applications to professional responsibilities of dentists and hygienists. 


Meet our Speaker


Jay T. Dziwlik (pronounced Jeev-lick), MBA, CAE 

Jay has been with the Indiana Dental Association since 2000, currently serving as Assistant Executive Director and has experience of over 29 years in the not-for-profit association industry.

Jay coordinates membership, new dentists, dental practice and is liaison to the IU School of Dentistry, and IDA AIR leadership training programming.  He speaks across Indiana to dentists, staff, association executives, and occasionally nationally at the American Dental Association. 

Jay is a nationally recognized Certified Association Executive (CAE); holds a graduate MBA and has been recognized as the Indiana Association Professional of the Year twice by the Indiana Society of Association Executives in 2005 and 2019. The Indiana Dental Association recognized Jay with the Special Service Award for his work in leadership development and Mission of Mercy charitable dentistry project. 

Jay is most proud of his darling wife, Martha and being married happily for 34 years.  He delights in his adulting and growing family.  He likes reading multiple books at the same time.  He works out on C2 indoor rower and is attempting to row virtually around the world.  He just passed 17 million meters, over 1/3rd of the way.  He leads and teaches at Traders Point Christian Church and volunteers with Scouting Troop 202 in Carmel, IN.
