Description 

Are you currently documenting the 2018 AAP classifications on every patient? Standard of care necessitates that each patient have an AAP classification in health, gingivitis, or periodontitis. Implants have become commonplace in the oral cavity and also need an AAP classification assigned and documented when present. In this course we discuss how to accurately assign an AAP classification for each patient wherever they fall on the health to disease spectrum.

Objectives 

- Learner will identify the AAP classifications for health. 

- Learner will review the AAP classifications for gingivitis.

- Learner will list the 3 AAP classifications for implants.

- Learner will describe staging and grading of Periodontitis according to the 2017 AAP classifications.

 Shelley Brown, MEd, RDH has been in the dental industry since 2001. She loves riding her 4 young boys around on her cargo bike.

Jessica Atkinson, MEd, BSDH, RDH, has been in the dental field for 23 years with experience as front office staff, dental assistant, Dental Hygienist and Dental Hygiene Education. Education is Jessica’s joy, from educating patients, students and anyone else who comes across Hygiene Edge’s YouTube channel. She speaks both nationally and internationally to continue educating, growing, and being inspired with her fellow dental professionals. 

Melia Lewis, MEd, BSDH, RDH is a proud clinical dental hygienist in Utah. She loves learning, educating, and advocating for dental hygienists to grow in their profession and serve our local communities. She speaks nationally and loves to write about teeth and create helpful dental videos. When she’s not talking about dentistry or how amazing RDHs are, she’s planning her next trip either out of the country or to a National Park or being a mom to her two-daughter girl gang and goldendoodle pup.

Cancellation Policy: 

Processing and service fees are non-refundable for any and all cancellations with no exceptions. Refunds will only be issued if requested 8 days or more prior to the event. No refunds will be given within 7 days of the event unless the event is canceled by CE Zoom, or unforeseen acts of God, in which we will try and reschedule the event prior to issuing a full refund, minus any processing fees. Please note, if this is a live-streamed event, you must have a good internet connection and refunds will not be issued due to poor connection or courses not counting for CE credit.
