Overview

Over the past one hundred years, dentists have observed a rapid and steady increase in the number of patients who present with crooked and crowded teeth, bruxism and required orthodontic intervention. In many cases, these signs can indicate a much more serious problem. Underdeveloped upper and lower jaws may indicate an underlying and potentially serious medical condition—sleep disordered breathing including mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea, a condition which affects millions of people of all ages, is often the result of craniofacial developmental deficiencies—putting dentistry on the front line of treating this condition.

Breathe New Life is an innovative course designed to help dentists and their staff begin to connect the dots and to ultimately recognize their essential role.

This course is designed to provide clinical insights and information to help dentists begin the process of integrating sleep therapies into their practice. During this seven and a half hour course, you and your staff will achieve a basic knowledge of the clinical realities facing individuals who suffer from craniofacial developmental deficiencies. Lectures will introduce the key differences between treating the symptoms and addressing the underlying cause. You will gain insight into the anatomy of sleep disordered breathing including obstructive sleep apnea and learn how this problem can and should be addressed in your office. You will hear from leading experts in sleep and breathing health as well as clinicians who are successfully treating patients using a novel protocol and advanced therapeutics.

You will also hear from one of the world’s foremost experts in medical billing in the dental office to learn how medical billing can provide an additional wallet to help patients in their journey to health and wellness. Finally, this course will provide practical tips to help you see a clear path to integrating sleep medicine into your practice.
