Periodontal Therapy: Saving Lives, One Patient at a Time

Overview

Course Description:
Healthy gums don't bleed, and when they do, dangerous bacteria enter the bloodstream adding a layer of systemic inflammation that many of our patients can ill afford. This course will explore the most effective uses of technology for diagnosis and adjunctive therapies to offset the inflammatory burden. Real case studies, with AAP staging and grading will reveal the benefits and advantages of the same.

Course Objectives:
 Following this course, the attendee will be able to:
    ▪    Recognize technologies designed to increase diagnosis and case acceptance
    ▪    Utilize AAP Staging and Grading for periodontally involved patients
    ▪    Evaluate adjunctive therapies used for the management of 'biofilm infections'
    ▪    Employ strategies for effective patient communication
    ▪    Illustrate the dangers of systemic inflammation
