Course Description:

Clear Aligners. So many patient are searching for them, but the overhead costs can be quite cost-prohibitive. For those ortho relapse cases or mild/moderate Malocclusion cases, wouldn't most patients prefer to wear a thin, clear piece of plastic that no-one can readily see? Blue Sky Bio has developed an Orthodontic Module to add to their already widely loved and respected Implant Planning software. And, in the keeping with tradition, they are making this software free to download and use. The only fee is a per-case export fee that would rival the cost of a single cup of coffee from Starbucks. In fact, for the time being, it’s FREE!

But let's not forget. Not all cases will be appropriate for clear aligners. Traditional brackets and wires have a VERY important place in the care of our patients. But, what about refining and digitizing the most time consuming part of this treatment, the bracketing appointment. Wouldn't we all much rather position the brackets while having a cup of coffee? With digital design, we can print models and fabricate stents that will carry and position our brackets just as planned on the computer. Not only does this cut a 1.5hr bracketing appointment down to about 40min or less, but no more using mirrors and trying not to nudge a bracket in the process. And what's even better is that it reduces the likelihood of having to reposition in the future.

Note: This course will help familiarize attendees with the use of the BlueSkyPlan’s Orthodontic Module. This module allows the user to digitally manipulate the position of the teeth in a model and align in an ideal manner. Then, the software will generate progressive models to manipulate the position of the teeth until they reach the prefered final destination. This software is still in active development and is truly changing the field of in-house orthodontics. This course will give you the jump-start you need to bring Digital Orthodontics to your office right away. Also, we will cover the the very simple process of fabricating your own bracket trays. And of course, we'll cover the process of printing these models in your own office if that's what you wish to do. Please keep in mind, to fully learn the software abilities, it is HIGHLY encouraged that you bring your own laptop, capable of CAD design.
