During the final course in this four-part series, we will review key segments from the previous programs to ensure clinician comfort and confidence that any material changes or technique alterations implemented during or after the conclusion of this series are successful.
This session will demonstrate a hands-on component utilizing a Class II product sampling kit requested prior to the deadline.
The participant will have an opportunity to view and discuss procedural video clips highlighting some of the material attributes most important to clinical performance and creating a long-lasting restoration. Each participant will have the opportunity to replicate the exercises themselves as part of a unique interactive learning experience
This program is designed to improve clinician confidence regarding both material selection and procedural technique with the goal of producing high quality restorations for our most frequently performed restorative procedures.
In addition to their kit, attendants should bring the following armamentarium to the course:
- Curing Light
- Composite Instrument
- Composite Dispensing Gun
- Forceps
- Pin tweezers
Course Four Overview:
In this course we will complete our look at the single unit crown procedure and its impact on our practice, our patient experience, and our efforts involved.
Look at recording an impression and troubleshoot common problems
Discuss provisional restorations and their impact on the overall procedure
Opportunity to test features of Class II Solution Product in-office
Course Four Objectives:
By the completion of the course, the participants will have:
1. Understanding of what impacts the success and longevity of a crown
2. Review proper impression-making procedure troubleshoot common errors
3. Relate the importance of the provisional restoration to a long-lasting definitive crown
4. Discuss provisional crown fabrication and provisional cement options
5. Tie it all together via demonstration with in-office sample kit
Dr Conte is a prosthodontist who has spent 25+ years in dentistry working in a variety of roles spanning private practice, academia, industry and public health.
Nick has previously served as the Director of Clinical Research and Clinical Education for Dentsply Sirona Restoratives during which time he worked on development teams to commercialize restorative products ranging from composites and adhesives to impression materials and resin cements.
Dr. Conte earned a B.A. from the University of Rochester in New York in Health Economics and completed both his DMD degree and his Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, in Newark, New Jersey.
In addition, Nick earned an MBA from Wilmington University in Delaware.
He currently holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and is a fellow in the American College of Dentists and a member of the American Society of Forensic Odontology.
Nick enjoys lecturing on dental materials, procedural based clinical solutions and team focused office efficiency. Originally from New York City, Nick now resides with his family in Lewes, Delaware.
