Course Description: Oral Cavity Cancer is on the rise. Each day, 100 new cases of oral cancer will be diagnosed in the United States, and every hour of every day one person suffering from oral cavity cancer will die from it. There has also been a shift in the demographic of people who are being diagnosed with oral cavity cancer, such as nonsmoking men and women under 50 years of age who typically were considered low risk. How often do you as the hygienist see oral cavity cancer? How do you perform your oral cancer screenings? How often are you doing it? When do you refer to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or an ENT doctor?
