COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The old-school paradigm of treating periodontal disease with
a sharp instrument and irrigation is gone for good! Now we recognize the
root causes of this disease are multifactorial including the individual
bacteria makeup of the biofilm, hyperglycemia, tobacco, food sensitivities,
fungal infections and more. Plus, chronic inflammation and bacterial
infiltration now have a proven causative relationship with a heart attack and
stroke. It’s our turn to become sophisticated diagnosticians and learn the new
paradigm of individualized treatment planning for full mouth disinfection.
