10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CST | Diagnostic Coding - Moving Dentistry From Anecdotal To Data Driven Care | 1.00 | ||
Overview: While professional judgement remains critical to
individualizing care and precision medicine, diagnostic coding is essential for
clinicians to improve patient outcomes, enhance efficiency in the dental
office, and to allow for better patient communication. Medical clinicians have
utilized diagnostic codes for 20+ years, leading to significant changes in how
medical clinics and plans interact and communicate with patients and provide
patients with key information. Codes
have allowed for development of inter-professional real time communication
which is critical in emergency circumstances.
Diagnostic coding is essential to the development of decision support
tools and is an integral piece in identifying important information that is
needed to assist health care clinicians in providing the best available
treatments for their patients.
