Overview: In this course, participants will explore the intricate relationship between sleep and overall health, particularly focusing on the impact of sleep on root-cause hygiene. Understanding the connection between sleep, airway function, and periodontal health is crucial for dental and healthcare professionals aiming to provide comprehensive care to their patients. 

Objectives:

 - Identify periodontal pathogens linked to airway dysfunction

 - Review sleep training modalities to maximize the detoxification process of restorative sleep

 - Compare strategies that promote nasal breathing

 - Discover the root causes of airway dysfunction that require referrals for sleep apnea, myofunctional therapy, and ENT assessments 

Bio: Amber Auger, RDH, MPH is a practicing dental hygienist and clinical innovations implementation specialist. She specializes in taking the latest science and creating customized protocols to meet your practice\'s goals. With over 15 years of experience in the dental industry, Amber provides practical protocols for technology implementation, refocuses on the patient experience, and utilizes systemic approaches to Periodontal Therapy.
