Objectives: 1). Become familiar with types of blood-borne pathogens (BBP) found in the dental office, 2). Understand risks associated with BBP in the workplace, 3). Understand how to minimize risks and potential for exposure at work, 4). Determine proper action if exposure occurs, and 5). Create an exposure control plan

Cristy has worked in the dental field since 1993.  She started as an assistant in general dentistry.  Cristy also went on to get her Expanded Functions Certificate.  Cristy later worked in oral surgery as an assistant.  While working in the oral surgery practice, she was certified in the Surgical Assistants anesthesia program and was ACLS certified, as well as becoming a CPR instructor and OSHA Speaker. 

 

Cristy later transitioned from working in the clinical setting to the administrative side of dentistry.  She has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of a dental practice.  Cristy is currently employed as an Account Specialist with Dental Care Solutions, where she has a chance to continue to help dental practices thrive.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards of the Academy of General Dentistry Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE) through the joint program provider approval of CE Zoom and US Oral Surgery Management. CE Zoom is approved for awarding FAGD/MAGD credit.
