Course Overview:

The effectiveness of clear aligners for treating children in the primary through mixed dentition phases of life is often underestimated, and more traditional modalities employed most of the time. The instructor has over 20 years of orthodontic experience treating kids in a very proactive manner and over 15 years of experience using clear aligner therapy doing so with great success.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn of the different objectives for early treatment depending on the child’s age as the aims for a three-year-old are quite different from that of a 13-year-old.

Participants will learn what specific clinical and radiographic findings have critical importance for success as well as predicting challenges in the future for the child’s treatment.

Participants will learn fundamentals of patient (and parent) selection, what to look out for as warning signs that may lead to treatment challenges, and the very important “talk tracks” of explaining the nuance of early treatment to the parent.

Participants will be provided with numerous different patient treatment examples to understand the breadth and scope of what’s possible and what may be better attempted with more conventional treatment techniques.

Participants will be given examples of how virtual monitoring can be employed to make treatment more effective, but also how it is used differently than in comprehensive treatment cases.
