Course Description:

Affecting more than half of the world’s population, Caries Disease is the number one most prevalent of all 291 diseases included in the Global Burden of Disease Study.  And Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is the #1 most prevalent disease amongst young children….worldwide!  All this, for a disease that is 100% preventable.  But our profession has it backward.  We like to fix the holes while paying little attention to the disease itself
Here’s my best analogy.  If you drove home to find your house engulfed in flames, would you call a carpenter to fix the roof, while the fire was still licking away at your floorboards?  Of course not!  You’d call 911 to put out the fire, zero in on fixing the root cause, and only then get a restorative plan.
It’s time to put down our drill…. and rework our so-called “preventive” appointment to deliver new strategies.
