It was Love Airway Disturbance at First Sight
Course Overview:
Airway disturbance has been linked to many of the most common causes of premature death in the United States; including cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and unintentional injury.
Providing proper intervention may ideally need to occur as early as the first days of life. Prevention is typically the missing opportunity in the overall prevention of such morbidities. This course will explore airway screening and diagnostic techniques for all providers to incorporate into daily practice.
Consequences of delaying treatment, knowing when to refer, and confirmation of treatment success will also be reviewed.
Course Objectives:
1. Recognize the long-term consequences of delaying treatment
2. Recognize normal vs abnormal breathing
3. Make a differential diagnosis
4. Understand the 3 major causes of disruptive breathing in infants and children
5. Decision tree for choosing the correct treatment and validation of success
