She practiced as a geriatric dentist in Detroit for over 30 years, and was a member of the team that founded the Henry Ford Center for Senior  Independence. She also had a mobile practice that provided care for homebound, assisted living and nursing home patients all over the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. She has presented continuing education courses on geriatric dentistry and treatment of dementia patients in numerous locations around Michigan. After she retired her practice she began volunteering several days a week at the St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic in Detroit, and later at the Malta Dental and Medical Clinic in Detroit. She  was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, providing lectures on geriatrics and dementia for dental and hygiene students. She is currently volunteering at Lahi Dental Clinic in Lynnwood, WA, with plans to volunteer in the Special Needs clinic at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
