Communication is a vital skill and plays a key role in
effectively providing oral healthcare services. Patients rely on their dentist
not only for their clinical expertise, but for their ability to communicate
effectively. The dentist, as well as the entire dental team, have the
opportunity to educate their patients. When patients receive clear information,
understand next steps, and have the chance to ask questions, they will be more
comfortable. Using effective communication will help patients be at ease and
understand dental procedures.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the importance of
effectively communicating with patients and Team members
- Learn verbal and non-verbal methods
to successfully convey your message
- Understand signals to verify that
the receiver understands your communication
