Overview:  Our goal in dentistry is to have the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity “live long, and prosper.” A quote we say to the periodontium after periodontal therapy, or to the tooth after we administer a fluoride treatment; as well as to ourselves as we ergonomically manage biofilm removal in the oral cavity.  Biofilm management is the key to prevention. Come discuss with us how to “give that biofilm all we’ve got,” to improve the oral health of our patients with ergonomics in mind. 

 

Objectives:

• Learners will describe professional biofilm management techniques.
• Learners will identify ways to manage biofilm while simultaneously preventing musculoskeletal disorders.
• Learners will list ways patients can control biofilm through at home self-care.
