- Review opioid prescription trends after dental procedures
- Identify alternative strategies to lessen or obviate the need for opioid prescribing after procedures
- The risks and identification of opioid use disorder
- Incorporate regulations and guidelines regarding opioid use for managing acute pain
- Discuss recommendations for safe, responsible use of prescription opioid analgesics
- Strategies for patient/family communication
Angela Rake, DDS, has been an oral maxillofacial surgeon at Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2002. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
