This course will review the role of dental hygienist as a leader in the practice and advocate for comprehensive patient care.  As an educated, licensed provider, the dental hygienist’s scope of practice and standards for clinical dental hygiene practice provide a framework for their responsibilities as an oral health provider.
The dental hygienist is a trusted partner within the dental team and with patients.  As such, the dental hygienist encounters many opportunities with patient visits and interactions to educate and lead patients to acceptance of treatment through education and communication.
In this program the speakers will discuss communication and assessment strategies for co-discovery with patients, how to help patients understand the benefits of a comprehensive approach to oral health for a lifetime of function and wellness, how to overcome patient objections, and the value of G3 (Greeting, Guiding, Gratitude).
